Originally from San Diego, I spent eight years in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician. While I was enlisted, I earned a bechelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in electronic systems technology.
I entered the financial services industry in 2005 as a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed before moving to the Midwest and then on to San Francisco to work for Ivy Investments as a mutual fund wholesaler. As a regional vice president, I was responsible for supporting financial advisors and their clients with mutual fund investments. I relocated back to Southern California and worked for Edward Jones as a financial advisor in 2016 until the end of 2020.
I wrote my first book titled, The Balancing Act, in 2019 to help guide people through the challenges of budgeting by offering practical steps to achieve their goals as well as understanding the psychological elements that affect our financial decisions around spending.
I founded Dave Baldwin Financial in 2021 to better serve my clients through financial planning and investment management at a more reasonable and transparent cost. I didn't want to work for a Fortune 500 company that was only focused on revenue and gathering more assets. I wanted to work directly for my clients.
I am an active member of the North County community and sit on the Board of Directors for the Vista Chamber of Commerce. I attend North Coast Church and lead a life group with my wife, Andrea. We have two amazing Children, Megan and Ryan.
With 15 years of industry experience, I look forward to serving your financial needs.
