Is Financial Planning Right For You?

Are you looking toward retirement and want to know that you're moving in the right direction? Or, are you already retired and need to know that you are not going to run out of money?

Are you recently married and looking to blend your finances and your goals for the future? Are you starting a family and considering the financial impact? Committed to supporting your kids through college and want to know how much you can cover without risking your own long term goals?

Considering a job change and want to understand the long term impact on your financial goals? Perhaps you are dealing with a difficult situation like a job loss, death of a spouse or divorce?

Getting from point A to point B can be difficult, especially when there are a number of variables to consider. Dave Baldwin Financial makes it simple with the 4-step financial planning process.

Let's work together to turn your vision into reality with 4 easy steps: Envision, Design, Implement, and Adjust

The Planning Process

Envision

My process starts with getting to know you and understanding your goals. Our first meeting is an opportunity for me to learn about what is most important to you and to fully understand what you want to accomplish and when you want to accomplish it. Retirement, College Savings, Special Interests or hobbies, or even significant purchases like a second home, or an RV, are just a few of the long-term goals and financial lifestyle choices you may be considering.

Goals generally tend fall into 3 categories; catching up, getting ahead, or maintaining a sustainable financial lifestyle. Whether you are just starting out in the accumulation phase, getting close to retirement in the transition phase, or already retired and in the drawdown phase, it is important to clearly identify where you are now and where you want to be in the future. Once we've got that all figured out, we can design a plan to get you there.

Design

The next step in my process is to design a personalized plan that fits your unique situation. Analyzing your income, expenses, current savings, debt, as well as time horizon and comfort level with risk to determine the most efficient way to achieve your goals. My job is to help you plan out a way to achieve the things you want without putting your priorities or future needs at risk.

You may discover that some goals don't fit with others, or that you have to make room on your plate to fit them all in. That's OK, sometimes my job is to help you see what you can accomplish. In this step we work together to prioritize and compromise and find the most ideal combination of needs and wants to design the perfect plan for you.

Designing a financial plan involves a deep understanding of investment products, account types, and tax rules and regulations to take advantage of the right opportunities at the right stages of life and there can be serious consequences if not done correctly. My 15 years of industry experience gives me the knowledge base and capability to design the right financial plan for you.

Implement

Once the plan has been designed, we put it into action. Simple as that! There my be some paperwork to establish necessary accounts or transfer investments but don't worry, I do all the heavy lifting to set everything up just the way you want it. Your financial plan is a tangible written document that spells out every step that needs to take place in order to get you where you want to be.

Your Financial Plan is not just a fancy 3-ring binder filled with pages of graphs and charts you likely wont look at again after I have presented it to you (I'm not in the business of selling fancy 3-ring binders). I use Industry leading financial planning software that you can securely access through this site. This software is dynamic, you can check your progress and make adjustments, because the process doesn't stop here.

Adjust

Financial Planning is an ongoing process and we work together to stay on track. Unexpected changes and challenges come up all the time and priorities shift. Jobs, economic events, and capital markets can seem like an ever-changing landscape of uncertainty, but with consistent evaluation and assessment, we can make necessary revisions and adjustments to your plan so that you will have confidence that you are moving toward your goals.
